Spring Classic At Lake Kinkaid

Thirty teams (one of the largest in recent IMTT history) reported to the starting line on a misty, windy and cool morning on Saturday April 5th. Water temperature in the mid to high 40’s with air temperature around 30 degrees. Tournament Director Walter Krause had done a super job in setting up (what, turned out to be) the first IMTT tournament for 2014. After a fun filled Saturday night banquet prepared by Anna Belles staff, the entrants were primed and ready to take off Sunday morning for the final day of the tournament only to be delayed by one hour due to dense fog. While the water temperature pretty much remained the same, after an early morning frost, the sun upgraded the air temperature to the mid-50”s. A welcomed change to most of the fishermen.

The tournament winners shared a combined money pot of $2,900.00. Remaining monies will continue to be used for tournament expenses and for meeting the goals and objectives of the Illinois Muskie Tournament Trail.
