Fall Classic at Lake Shelbyville
On Saturday with stormy skies looming 26 men and women headed to their favorite muskie spots on the 15,000 acre Corps of Engineers lake in central Illinois. At the end of the first day only one muskie had been registered. A 41″ muskie was boated and released by the reigning IMTT State Champion team of David Eichelberger and Tony Carswell of Champaign IL. 2013 was the second year in a row the team of Eichelberger and Carswell won the IMTT Fall Classic.
Sunday found the weather more pleasant for a day on the water. An early morning bite afforded the one man team of Victor Fox of Waterman IL a 33.5″ muskie. This would be the only fish caught on the second day of the tournament.
The IMTT conducts muskie tournaments throughout the state of Illinois. During their two day tournaments the IMTT conducts non-perishable food drives to help support the local food pantries. This year’s Fall Classic brought in 454 much needed food items. A special thank you to all who donated.
The IMTT also would like to express a special Thank You to The Farm House Restaurant, Monical’s Pizza and Deer Trail Country Club (all of Shelbyville IL) for their support.
The IMTT will hold it’s annual State Championship Tournament on November 9th and 10th. This year’s championship will be held on beautiful Lake Kinkaid in southern Illinois.
