2024 Fall Classic @ Lake Kinkaid

The IMTT held its 2024 Fall Classic Tournament on Lake Kinkaid the weekend of October 12th & 13th. This was a two day event with 5 fish registered on Saturday and 7 fish registered on Sunday. Saturday fishing started off mild and finished off warm for this time of year with the wind blowing lightly out of the southwest. Sunday started with some decent clouds and calm, but those clouds quickly disappeared as the wind picked up from the west and quickly shifted to the northwest.

There were a ton of follows and quite a few undersized fish boated at the event. First place went to the team of Rob Hawbaker and Joe Duffy who managed to boat 5 fish in two days. Rob landed a 36″ and a 33.75″. Joe landed three fish for the boat, 32″, 31.25″, & 30.5″. Second place went to the team of Ron Haynes and Phil Gutmann. Ron landed three fish in the event, 38″, 34.5″, & 32.25″. Third place went to the team of Mark and Matt Balcunas. Matt also landed three fish during the event, 36.5″, 35.5″ & 31.5″.

There was one other fish boated during the event with Jon Dunnett landing a 38″ fish.

The Big Fish pot went to Ron Haynes with his 38″ fish which beat out the one caught by Jon Dunnett based on the time of the catch.

We want to thank our participants for the generous food donations they made that will go to the Murhpysboro Food Pantry.

The IMTT with wrap up the 2024 Trail with our State Championship event coming up on October 26th & 27th on Prairie Lake. Anyone who has fished two qualifying Trail events can enter the event for $175 and any non-qualifier can fishe the event for $225. Membership in the IMTT is required for the State Championship.

We will be awarding all end-of-the-year awards at the conclusion of the event. This includes Angler-of-the-Year, Team-of-the-Year, and Big Fish of the Year. All three of these awards are very much up for grabs at the final event.
