2016 Gregg Tichacek Tournament
On Saturday September 17th the Illinois Muskie Tournament Trail kicked off the fall session of the 2016 season with the Gregg Tichacek Memorial Tournament at the SnakeDen Hollow SFWA near Victoria IL.
Twenty-two Muskie anglers set out with their new lure, their favorite lure, their ‘lucky’ lure or just the lure that looked good for the day in hopes of hooking up with one of the Muskies from the 168 acres of Lake McMaster. In the deep & clear water there would be several fish sightings but only three teams managed to get their Muskies to the bump-boards for official measurements.
First Place & BIG FISH honors go to the team of Howard Chambliss of Mt Vernon IL and Kyle Kroening of Marion IL with Howard’s 40.75″ Muskie that ate a Glide Bait. Second Place went to Anthony Fazio of Westmont IL and Adam Vahl of Oak Park IL with Anthony’s 40.25″ Muskie on a Top Water bait. Third Place was earned by Robbie Wilke IV of Plainfield IL and Tony “Bud” Witzel of Bridgeview with Robbie’s 37.5″ Muskie caught on a Crank Bait.
Congratulations to these three teams for making the right choices during what proved to be a tough bite.
